Every piece that comes off is going into a 1gallon freezer back with its hardware. All hardware is getting the once over to make sure the threads are clean of debris and to insure there are no bad threads.

As soon as I removed the side cover this large cylindrical piece nearly fell out. Must of been the zip ties up above that where holding it in place.

Removed it looks like a large socket.

As soon as the cylindrical piece came out the first gear nearly fell out as well. This is the gear that mates up with the output of the transmission. All teeth where inspected and no visable cracks and put away.

Im not sure exactly what the purpose of this cover is, but its painted orange to match the Crusiers paint job.

Inside it looks like somebody dumped some orange powder. Im sure thats not supposed to be that color.

Looking through the side the Transmission plugs into yo can see right through. Is there supposed to be some kind of gasket around the outer edge of the bearing where the orange cover was?

While removing the orange cover some of the studs started pulling out of the case. Since we are cleaning everything up might as well pull them all out. I noticed there appears to be some kind of rubbery gasket at the base of the thread. I wonder if its RTV?

All of the studs have been removed. Notice there is no sign of a real gasket on the back? The orange cover looks like its not really been sealed for a long time.

From the inside it looks like the bearing that the orange cover well covered was pressed in from the inside of the case.

This is the side where the Transmission entered. The gasket looks like it needs to be replaced as well.

Time to remove the top access of the case so we can look down at the shift fork. There is a long bolt that appears to be sticking out some and there is some aluminum looking re-enforcment type of cover.

Both of these arms are pointing forward. Later I realized that only one side really does anything being on the "right" and the other "left" acts as a piviot point to shift the rear.

Loosing the top nut to remove the shif linkage.

Pulled the cotter pin out of the piviot point.
